Linda Pate MBACP
Therapist at Mossy Cairn Counselling
(pronouns: she/her)

Welcome
I am currently taking new clients.

Hello, I’m Linda Pate, a qualified Counsellor (also known as a Therapist), with a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I’m a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and you’ll find me listed on the BACP Register here: BACP - British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.
Before starting my private practice, I had the privilege of supporting people through emotionally challenging times in settings such as the NHS Staff Counselling Service, Healthbox CIC, and the Douglas Macmillan Hospice Bereavement Service.

I founded Mossy Cairn Counselling because I truly believe in the healing power of talking therapy. Counselling offers a space to feel heard, understood, and supported, and I’ve seen how transformative that can be. Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals facing a wide range of experiences, including grief and loss, relationship difficulties, anxiety, panic attacks, workplace stress, retirement transitions, health concerns, food-related issues, trauma, and the emotional impact of perimenopause and menopause.

If you’re navigating a difficult time, or simply want to feel more connected to yourself and live in a way that feels more authentic, I’m here to walk alongside you. I offer a safe, confidential space where you can explore what’s going on for you, at your own pace. I’ll listen without judgement, and - if it feels right for you - we can explore tools and strategies that may help you cope and move forward.

Finding the right therapist is a personal and important step. That’s why I offer a free introductory session, so we can meet, talk through what’s brought you to counselling, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

If you’re curious about the name Mossy Cairn, you can read more about the meaning behind it here: Mossy Cairn Meaning. This is a personal metaphor that reflects the spirit of my practice

Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to arrange an introductory session. I’d be honoured to support you.
